Below you will find various volunteer opportunities for this year's meeting. The descriptions are provided, though are subject to change based on need. You will be able to share your availability when signing up to volunteer. If you have any questions, please reach out to Jennifer at [email protected].

Event Set-Up (Wednesday, March 12, after 2pm; time commitment is about 2 hours)
- Assist in setting up and placing banners, signs, etc., around the meeting venue.
- Assure that tables are placed appropriately in the registration area.
- Set up any interactive areas for the meeting (i.e. Memorial Wall, information board, photo screen).
- Assist in setting up Student Suite area and Quiet Space area.
- Set up host city table.
Registration Set-Up (Wednesday, March 12, after 2pm; time commitment is about 2 hours)
- Prepare name badges for distribution.
- Place signage at registration desk.
- Assure registration desk is ready for attendees.
Registration Desk Worker (Thursday, Friday, Saturday, or Sunday of meeting)
- Assist attendees as they check-in, providing name badges, reviewing payment needs, and helping with the meeting app.
- Register attendees on-site as needed.
- Be prepared to answer questions about the meeting.
- Direct individuals to various locations in the hotel for the meeting.
- Serve as a “face” of MSS.
Attendance Counts (Thursday, Friday, Saturday, or Sunday of meeting)
- Take attendance count at assigned event/session and report to registration desk.
- Attendance counts help us to know which events are best supported for future meetings.
- Taking attendance about 10 minutes into session is a most accurate count.
Trivia Night Set-Up (Thursday, March 13, 6:00-7:00pm)
- Help decorate and prepare the room for the event.
Trivia Night Event Helper (Thursday, March 13, 7-9pm)
- Assist during the event with keeping energy of room high, answering attendee questions, directing attendees to tables, etc.
Host of Commons (Thursday, Friday, or Saturday of meeting, times vary; specific events are noted in sign-up)
- Be available in the room during the named event.
- Be the on-site contact for those in the room if something is needed.
- Provide a count of attendees during your shift/session/event.
Event Clean-Up (Sunday, 1-2pm)
- Help take down banners and signs throughout the meeting spaces.
- Ensure flyers and “trash” are cleared and/or gathered in common areas.
- Ensure we leave the hotel with a good impression of MSS.
Registration Clean-Up (Sunday, noon-2pm)
- Break down boxes and prepare recycling.
- Pack up registration desk supplies for transport to MSS office.
- Pack up remaining program books, badges, etc. for transport to MSS office.
- Pack up any lost and found for transport to MSS office.
- Ensure registration area is clean of MSS materials.
